Reds

On the hottest day of the year (so far) we took my dad to a Reds baseball game at the Great American Ball Park in downtown Cincinnati.

The temperature was well into the 90’s, the humidity about as high, and we sat in the blister section in full sun. Mom was the only smart one and stayed home. She had seen a baseball game back in 1977 – been there, done that!

Car Buying

I bought a car recently. So I feel something akin to a crime victim. Ripped off and beaten.

I can think of nothing else in the American experience where the price you pay depends solely on the strength of your negotiating skills.

Think about it. What other purchase do you make where you’re subjected to the waterboarding effects of high pressure sales tactics? Real estate isn’t sold this way. High-end appliances aren’t heavily negotiated or subject to “clear coat” fees.

Hoo boy – it’s been a month of mishaps. Is Mercury in retrograde or something?

A couple of weeks ago our much anticipated high-speed internet was finally installed. It lasted two whole days before we ripped the cable off the house with the RV.

Mishap

Yeah, the cable guy hung the wire too low and it snagged on the roof of the RV the first time we passed underneath.
